The National Cancer Institute staff, 1940
A Life magazine story in 1940 featured the new National Cancer Institute, and included this dramatically lit photograph of some of the staff members. About 100 persons made up the NCI staff at the time, housed in a six-story red brick building. In the same year the first issue of Journal of the National Cancer Institute went to press. c.
