FIGURE 7: MYOSIN II HEAVY CHAIN NULL CELLS SEEDED INTO MOUND COMPOSED OF PARENT STRAIN CELLS

Myosin II heavy chain null cells seeded into parent strain mound. [size: 5,608 KB] This mound was imaged approximately three hours after a small number of starved MHC null cells were added to unlabeled parent mound. Fluorescently labeled MHC null cells had segregated to inner core (bright center) or outer periphery (bright edge) of parent mound. See MHC null cells fail to keep up with vigorous rotation of parent cells. Slow, irregular movements of MHC null cells indicates that the parent spiral wave is not enough to restore normal motion in MHC null cells.
