The laboratory of Dean Hamer conducts research on the role of genes in
complex human characteristics and diseases including personality traits
and cancer risk-related behaviors. Maxine Singer's laboratory investigates
the structure and function of human transposable elements and their gene
product with the aim of understanding when and how they transpose and cause
mutations. Kira Lueders studies genome organization and nicotine receptor
gene expression.
